Yummy and oh and then easy. The only thing I would add to the instructions is to cook the stems commencement, so add together the leaves a few minutes after. That fashion, the stems aren't over-cooking while you lot are waiting for the stems to get cooked.
This is a perfectly written recipe. Easy execution and just a few, basic ingredients lend an elegant simplicity I appreciate. I used grapeseed oil rather than vegetable oil, basically because I had it on mitt to use. I besides did not cook the garlic in the oil (never practice). I added it to the bok choy almost half way through the cooking time. I'thou happy to exist the start to review this succulent and dependable side dish which I served with Asian Grilled Craven and Classic Fried Rice, recipes also from this site.
I made this with one caput of regular (not baby) bok choy and two cloves crushed garlic. It actually wasn't plenty and so I added a agglomeration of spinich. It was SO simple and delicious, with and without the spinich. Will definitely make again.
This was a strech for me equally I have never ventured into bok choy earlier. I used a nonstick pan and about a tablespoon of olive oil. Followed the suggestions cooking the white pieces with the garlic which I grated over the top, start. I besides grated in a bit of fresh ginger. When they were softened I added the greens and permit them steam uncovered until wilted. Stiring occasionally. I sprinkled some sea salt on when served. The results were not bad. Light, crunchy, quite tasty and my husband agreed. We will do this once again. Thank you so much!
Made this for dinner and everyone enjoyed it. It is of import to melt the white part of the bok choy starting time as the leafage part cooks quickly.
This is simply succulent! I added 4 cloves of garlic since we love annihilation with garlic. I also powedered in some ginger powder since I didn't take any fresh root. I've seen people in Communist china put tiny slivers of spicy red pepper in their bok choy to heat it upward a chip. I would think yous could even add together red pepper flakes to it as well and it would be fabulous! Give thanks you for an splendid base for bok choy. It was succulent.
5 stars for ease and simplicity of making it. I used regular bok choy instead of baby bok choy every bit the price difference is horrendous!
Not bad simple recipe. I drizzled nigh ane/three of a soy sauce bundle over the bok choy in the last mintue of cooking instead of adding table salt.
Perfect! I needed something quick and tasty simply not competing with the chief dish tonight. The prep, and sauté time took mere minutes to melt up the baby bok choy and information technology was washed. I seasoned with a lilliputian Hawaiian sea salt and fresh ground blackness pepper. Simple and delicious! It even so had the nice green color and was tender crisp. I served this with, "Japanese Ginger Pork," and "Oriental Light-green Bean Salad," also from this site.
My wife and I enjoyed this very much. Simple and like shooting fish in a barrel. Adjacent time I might skip the salt and add together some chicken stock. I liked one of the comments to cook the stems beginning and and so add the pinnacle part so it cooked evenly.
Very easy recipe. Didn't need to change a thing and it tasted neat.
So easy and then delicious! I but used one clove of garlic - love garlic but one clove was enough. I took the advice of some of the reviewers and added the stems get-go and stir fried for about three minutes, added the leaves, cooked for another three minutes and so drizzled some soy sauce on information technology the last 30 seconds. I inhale this in one case information technology's finished!
I never knew how to make bok choy until I made it this mode. My husband and I now make information technology a regular vegetable! It cannot get simpler than this - and super tasty!
Non a dish we will be repeating.
Quick and elementary to make and also very tasty. A neat recipe for someone only starting to cook bok choy.
Never had bok choy earlier. Tasty and easy to make.
What an fantabulous recipe to try out a new vegetable. I picked upwardly baby bok choy at the farmer'due south market, then went looking for a recipe. Delicious, with nothing to overwhelm the flavor, simple/ quick & good for you!!! I used olive oil & added a little fresh basis pepper. Thanks for sharing.
Nope, didn't like this one. I had loftier hopes, but I guess nosotros just aren't bok choy people. Thanks for submitting it though. I always like to try new things even if we don't treat them a lot.
I dearest bok choy, and thisis, inmy stance, ane of the best ways to get in. The only Things I did differently was to not chop the bok choy before cooking and to serve it with a wedge of lemon. So delicious! Cheers.
Nosotros liked this a lot. I did as others suggested and cooked the stalks a scrap longer than the leafy greens. Bok choy is a new favorite with us and this recipe is a delicious, and easy, style to enjoy it. Thank you, Frantic Cook. I served this with grilled pork chops and rice.
Very easy, simple and healthy! I added a splash of soy sauce to the dish and information technology was delicious. A slap-up fashion to get those leafy greens!
I loved this recipe, it was easy and quick if y'all similar the taste of cooked bok choy that is.
Fantastic and very elementary recipe for a very salubrious veggie! Never knew in the past how to ready then simply, it's the perfect side dish to my Asian dishes. I usually do a dash of garlic pulverization instead of cloves and sub low-sodium soy sauce instead of table salt for more taste. Bully over rice!
Hard to beat freshly-stir fried and crispy bok choy with just a hint of garlic. Yum!
Simple to cook, very tasty. As other reviewers brash, I cooked the stalks a bit before calculation in the leaves. I besides doubled the garlic, just considering I actually love the flavor of sauteed garlic. When I added the leaves, I also added several chopped green onions, because I had them on hand and needed to employ them. Thank you for this recipe - I enjoyed and volition regularly cook this once more.
I made this final night, and it was very easy to make! The just reason I took away ane star, is considering it was very banal!! I ended upward adding garlic powder, Morton's Flavour Salt, and Liquid Aminos- which is healthy alternative to soy sauce. Now THAT, gave information technology flavor and made the dish very tasty! I love simple ideas like this, simply call back, it will exist extremely boring if you only add the crushed fresh garlic.
Easy, uncomplicated, delicious. Only what I was looking for!
Demand to add almond slivers and anchovies. Very piece of cake to make
My husband really enjoyed this recipe - he thought the greens tasted like broccoli. I liked it, only not as much every bit I like salads made with raw bok choi. I did add together some mushrooms and I call up information technology would be adept with onions equally well.
Excellent recipe. Simply to make. I added a few hot pepper flakes to requite it a kick. We really enjoyed this. Information technology'southward a smashing side dish.
Used this recipe to brand some bok choy for another recipe. Turned out swell! I used regular sized bok choy, followed some other reviewer'southward advice to cook the stems first.
This was great! I could see myself playing effectually with the ingredients here occasionally but even unchanged, this was a delicious side dish to our Asian tenderloin. Keeping this recipe handy equally I'll exist repeating this one a LOT! Thanks for posting.
I wasn't a huge fan of these, I even added caramelised onions for a fiddling more than flavour, and information technology didn't help a whole lot. I would consider making this again, it was okay for the leftover bok choy I had. I wouldn't purchase bok choy specifically to brand this though.
This was tasty! I made this recipe using some normal-sized bok choy leftover from making stir fry. I enjoyed calculation a tablespoon of soy sauce, though side by side time I would probably use less.
Totally delicious & simple to make. Added garlic butter rice as a side
This was the first fourth dimension I have ever cooked Bok Choy and the recipe was and then easy to follow. The only changes I fabricated was that I used 3 tsp of prepared minced Garlic and instead of calculation salt, I added a little of the Szechuan sauce. It was astonishing. Next time I will try the oyster sauce.
This was pretty good; I found myself with some bok choy in the fridge with no ideas, and so I thought I would requite this a attempt. I added tofu and some frozen corn and a tiny bit of miso paste for flavor. I too added a bit of common salt, pepper, and hot pepper flakes for a little bit of bite. I enjoyed it!
Elementary and yummy, thanks! Added information technology to some fried brown rice and teriyaki craven to terminate up the meal.
This was a first time cooking Bok Choy and so I call back I'1000 lending more of the dislike to my ain errors and not the recipe. Going to try some other stuff and run across how it goes.
Bully recipe! Super unproblematic and tasty. Substituted vegetable oil with coconut oil, and had soya sauce on the side for dipping. Mmm!
Quick and easy
We used full-size bok choy, every bit the store had no baby bok choy available. This was a side veggie at Thanksgiving, and it was a big striking. I cooked it in a wok and allowed it to steam covered most of the cooking fourth dimension. Elementary and delicious.
Preferred the grilled book chop recipe from this site.
Cheers for the clear instructions. Just made bok choy for the first fourth dimension and it was delicious! I like to follow recipes like this past sense of taste so I put loads of added olive oil every bit it fried with fresh garlic. I as well mixed in my favorite steak seasoning (I like information technology on everything fried haha sodium free) which added really good flavour with a footling bit of salt. I as well used a lid and then it was steaming at the aforementioned fourth dimension, I observe it cooks better like that sometimes. Definitely going to be making this once again!
It was an excellent recipe. Could swallow as is, no fuss. My husband added a few drops of balsamic glaze and that turned out good as well. We added a bit of hot sauce or hot pepper flakes and that was good also. Fried in sesame oil for Asian flair with fried rice.
I've tried this with both infant bok choy and bok choy. The kids dear it with the baby bok choy but won't swallow it with the bok choy. Baby bok choy it is!
Easy, elementary and delicious
I did non make any changes because I wanted to see how it tasted as given. It was super easy and super good. I would highly recommend making information technology. I used the large bok choy and chopped it up.
Using vegetable oil lowers the Asian gustatory modality. The next day I made it with peanut oil.
Great side dish, I took the advice of others and cook the chop up white part then added the green leafy function. I used four heads of babe bok choy for three servings.
Just dearest how easy this is
Succulent!! I followed this recipe while trying to eat healthier. Definitely something I volition exist making at to the lowest degree one time a week.
Very delicious and piece of cake recipe to follow I added shrimp to mines come across photo to a higher place.
It'southward okay. I've had better elsewhere. I used minced garlic instead considering it'due south what I had on paw
This was an like shooting fish in a barrel recipe for certain. I put the stems in the pan outset and cooked them for a while before adding the leaves. Unfortunately, the taste was besides bitter for my liking. I may try this recipe again with the baby bok choy since say it has a sweeter flavor.
So quick, so piece of cake! Succulent as written, but fifty-fifty better with some chili paste and soy sauce :)
Wonderfully easy and I will effort different seasonings next time also. I hadn't cooked with bok choy before but we finished all of it and I'll be ownership more.
Served this yesterday to Chinese friends. Added onion to the mix, and garlic pulverisation to boost that flavour. Huge success. Will echo!
Great, simple way to make it. Adding a flake of ginger adds a bit more to the flavor. As well, if you are busy making the main to stand there stirring for vi-seven minutes, you can merely lower the heat, embrace it, and let the steam exercise the task. So elementary and easy! And yummy!
Delicious and piece of cake! The pkg from Trader Joes only had two bok choy in information technology, so I scaled the recipe down. I used canola oil and first sauteed some shitake mushrooms that needed to be used. Added the white parts of the bok choy, cooking for a few min. And then added the garlic and greenish parts. Cooks very apace. Topped with some pink Himalayan salt. I know I made and reviewed this before. I don't like how that doesn't show upward with the recipe anymore. Also, if you click 'I made it', the review is gone. They should accept left things the way they were which was more than user-friendly.
Great easy recipe! The leafy tops cooked faster than the stems. Adjacent fourth dimension I will cook the stems and add in the leafy tops just before the stems are washed cooking. Thank you for sharing this recipe, we now have another piece of cake side dish to enjoy with the chief class.
We loved information technology. Will be making it once more
Splendid. Perfect compliment to Grilled Salmon with Wasabi/ Soy sauce.
Very good bok choy. We used garlic powder instead of normal garlic. Notwithstanding a good bok choy. Could utilize a chip more flavor though, added dipping sauces and it was perfect.
I've used this recipe many times and love the results. I really prefer regular bok choy with it's slightly more robust flavours. Similar others I stir fry the white stems with garlic, adding the chopped light-green leaves near the stop of the process. A popular quick gear up at my house.
It was pretty good. I took the communication to cook the stems start and added sea salt.
Neat and elementary. But like Chinatown
very proficient and delicious. I ended upwards adding mushrooms to the dish and it was cracking!
Simple and delicious! I added grilled chicken and a few cherry tomatoes for the last infinitesimal of cooking, simply it would be fine equally is. Cheers for helping me detect good use for a agglomeration of bok choy I wasn't sure what to do with.
This is super easy to make and tasty! My kids even ate it! I used full bok choy, rather than baby, due to availability.
Quick and easy way to get veggies on the plate. Bonus...very tasty too. Will definitely brand again.
it was expert I might make it again
Easy recipe. I should have added extra garlic. I started the stalks well-nigh 3 minutes earlier the leaves. Which worked out well. Tasty dish! I've made a similar recipe with the improver of soy sauce. Also very tasty.
Like shooting fish in a barrel dish, cooked with the sweet bok Choy and was yummy
Though I'm certain I've had Bok Choy in Asian nutrient many times, I never had it alone till recently at a dinner party. The melt made information technology basically the same manner as this recipe, except for calculation some sliced fresh ginger. I followed the method in this recipe, using a large head of Bok Choy, and added: A few Tbsp thinly sliced crystallized ginger three big garlic cloves, thinly sliced one/4 medium onion thinly sliced A few shakes reduced sodium soy sauce i sautéed the to a higher place together, and then tossed in: a few handfuls of fresh spinach leaves, sliced into strips. and as it was looking a bit dry, I added: About 1/4 c broth from a Chinese restaurant Delicious! The photo was taken subsequently it sabbatum on the stove for awhile, so it doesn't look as fresh and green as information technology had been
Beginning experience with bok choy. Couldn't have turned out better and so easy.
Super basic yet utterly delicious!
I bought some bok choy on a whim then I didn't know what to practise with it. I went to Allrecipes and found this quick and easy manner to make information technology. We both liked it, merely information technology will never exist my favorite vegetable. That is only my personal preference. This was a great manner to gear up it.
I forgot how good Bok Choy is and this is a great stand lone side dish, however, the 2d time I fabricated it I used regular Bok Choy and added saute' shrimp and a picayune stir fry sauce to brand information technology the main dish.
Smashing uncomplicated new-flavor improver to the light-green veggie rotation. Will make again and be a piddling more than thorough in cleaning prep .
added long sliced green onions while stir frying.....gave information technology that extra flavor
Fantastic - and then simple and so delicious. Followed the recipe exactly but used baby bok choy.
