In Origins, wield all of the ultimate staffs in one game.
The Ultimate Staffs are upgraded Elemental Staffs. After obtaining an Elemental Staff, you must complete a puzzle of sorts in what is known as the "Crazy Place" and around the map. The Crazy Place is the area you teleport to when receiving the crystal for each elemental staff. Open up the portal by playing the gramophone with a record at the bottom of one of the elemental tunnels.

After completing the puzzle for any of the staffs, go to the Excavation Site and activate the switches around the scaffolds to turn the large, rotating device hanging from the middle of the ceiling. Make sure they all line up to the same color as your Staff. Once they're lined up, shoot the orb at the bottom of the rotating device with your staff. Next, take the staff back to it's glowing pedestal in "The Crazy Place" and kill a number of zombies around it until it upgrades.
Staff of Fire Upgrade
The first step to upgrading the fire staff is to fill four pots near the teleporter in the fire crazy place. Fill them by killing a number of zombies directly next to them. Once all four are filled, you will hear a confirmation.
The second step is to go to the church at Generator Site 6. There are nine different torches with the numbers 1-11, with the blood torch representing four, and number eight is missing. Look around the wall near the Mystery Box spawn for a few symbols. These symbols represent a number in Ternary code. From left to right, the code represents: 11, 5, 9, 7, 6, 3, and 4 (The Blood Torch). Use the Fire Staff to light the blood torch and three other torches that correspond to the code that appears in your game.
Staff of Lightning
The first step to upgrading the lightning staff is to decode some images in the Crazy Place. There will be a series of triangles that represents the keys of a piano near the teleporter. Left of the keys will be three different chords that represent musical notes. Use the Lightning Staff to shoot three of the keys that match the three notes. Ignore the top row of triangles, leaving a row of seven "keys" on the bottom. If you number them 1-7 starting from left to right, your chords will be(you can hit them in any order): 6-1-3, 3-5-7, 2-4-6. If you make a mistake, you only have to repeat the current sequence, not all of them. If you did it right, you should hear a confirmation.
The second step is to go around the map and interact with eight electric panels. The panels will spark if the dial is in the wrong position. Interact with the dial until the panel stops sparking. Seven of the eight panels are at the following locations:
- Generator Station 5
- Generator Station 6, near Tank
- Generator Station 6, in Church
- Generator Station 4, near tunnel entrance
- Generator Station 1
- Generator Station 2, inside Tank Station
- Base of Excavation Site

After all eight are in the correct positions, you will hear a confirmation.
Staff of Wind Upgrade
The first step to upgrading the Wind Staff is to use the staff on four rings above the teleporter in the Crazy Place. The marks on the rings should match up with the marks around the sides of the teleporter.
The second step is to go around the map and shoot three chimneys that are expelling smoke. Shoot them with the Wind Staff, and you'll hear a confirmation. The locations will be just outside of the map around:
- Generator Station 4
- Near Generator Station 5
- Between Generator Station 4 and Generator Station 6
Staff of Ice Upgrade
The first step to upgrading the Ice Staff is to shoot a number of symbols above the teleporter. The symbols must be shot in a specific order. The order is determined by a second set of symbols that will appear to the left of the teleporter. Again, these symbols will be Ternary Code. If you shoot the correct symbol, the stone will flip. If you shoot the wrong symbol, all stones will reset.
The second step is to find three tombstone-looking ruins around the map with water running over them. You must freeze them with the Ice Staff, then break them by firing your gun at it. The locations will be just outside of the map around:

- Near Generator Station 4, behind Jugger-Nog
- Around the base of the Excavation Site
- Behind Tank Station, near Giant Robot's hand
